Meet the founder
Ruth A. Hargrave is a passionate traveller who has journeyed around the world and discovered the transformative power of travel for both personal growth and healing. After owning her own travel company and a boutique hotel in Greece, she realised that people often struggled to find unique and sustainable accommodations that align with their values and support their personal well-being. She wanted to get away from the age-old concept of “needing a holiday to recover from the holiday”.
Drawing on her own experiences, Ruth created Thrive Voyager, a transformative travel directory that offers a curated selection of accommodations and experiences to help travellers find a place to thrive away from an increasingly stressful world. She believes that travel can be a catalyst for growth and that each person’s journey and requirements are unique to them.
Surrounded by the beauty of Dartmoor in the south of England and having lived in countries around the world including Greece, Spain and the US, Ruth understands the importance of finding a place to call home while immersing yourself in the culture. She is passionate about both travel and personal well-being and believes that people should be in control of their travel experiences, working directly with properties to get the best-tailored experience for them.
Ruth also understands the challenges small tourism businesses and travel brands face in today’s highly competitive industry and recognises that it can be difficult for them to differentiate themselves and reach their target audience without paying high commissions to generic online portals.
Through Thrive Voyager, Ruth aims to help people connect with sustainable and socially responsible properties and experiences that align with their values and support their personal growth and well-being. She believes that everyone deserves to thrive in life, and that travel can play a powerful role in making that happen.
