The rich history of the region unfolds as you explore the falls, with Spanish conquistador Álvar Núñez Cabeza de Vaca being the first known European to witness their magnificence in 1541. The name of Argentina’s Misiones Province itself pays homage to the Jesuit Missionaries who protected the Guarani people and their villages in the 1600s, as depicted in the film “The Mission” starring Robert De Niro.

At Awasi, your holiday is tailored to your preferences, with personalised support from your private guide and vehicle. We are proud to be Carbon Neutral and actively protect 340 hectares of native woodland in Iguazú and Patagonia, offsetting more CO2 than our lodge and guest travel emissions combined.

Each villa, adorned with traditional textiles and baskets woven by the indigenous Guarani people, features a private terrace, plunge pool, and spacious living areas. The Master Villa boasts two bedrooms, a larger plunge pool, and a living room, accommodating families or couples seeking ample space.

Spanning 100 square meters, each villa offers a refuge in the jungle, perched above the forest floor.
